New Services Added to Picture Ohio, LLC

Jim Crotty, owner and photographer of Picture Ohio, LLC has now introduced new services to his business, including digital photo restoration, custom printmaking, writing and editing and publication design. These services have been requested by his current client base, which has been served by Crotty's work in fine art and commercial photography.

September 29, 2004 -- Jim Crotty, professional photographer and owner of Picture Ohio, LLC., dba/Picturesque Ohio, a Kettering-based firm, has recently introduced additional services to his business. These services include digital photo restoration and custom printmaking as well as writing, editing and publication design for marketing communications.

Crottys other services include original, fine art nature and landscape photographic prints, commercial photography services and stock image sales. Ive added the new services primarily because of the requests from my current client base. Theres no doubt the need exists, and I have the capital equipment, facilities, technical ability and know-how to meet these needs in a very cost-effective manner, commented Crotty.

Digital Photo Restoration: By using the latest in advanced software and professional scanning hardware, Picture Ohio can restore old photographs, correcting discoloration, eliminating marks and scratches and even changing a personal feature or two. Clients provide the original negative or transparency. Picture Ohio delivers a clean and restored digital files of the original photograph, one version suitable for email or electronic publication; the other for printing. Picture Ohio can also add additional effects including hand coloring, color to black and white, sepia tone, watercolor, dry brush and charcoal for a "fine art" feel to a customers photograph.

Custom Printmaking and Enlargements: With the customers original negative, transparency or digital file, Picture Ohio can also produce high-quality, professional prints, ranging in size formats from 5"x7" to 24"x30." Picture Ohio presents a selection in fine art paper from suppliers including Epson and the Moab Paper Company. These choices include Textured, UltraSmooth, Velvet, Somerset Velvet, Canvas and Premium Glossy.

Writing and Editing for Marketing Communications: Picture Ohio now provides writing and editing services for individuals and organizations, with emphasis on news releases, newsletters, corporate publications, video scripts and text for websites. Previous advertising and communication programs written by Jim Crotty have been recognized with awards from the Public Relations Society of America, the Society of Technical Communication and the Telly Awards.

Publication Design: Since 1988, Jim Crotty has created an extensive portfolio of newsletters, annual reports, flyers, direct mail and brochures for corporate clients in the service, commercial property, finance, health care and manufacturing industries. He effectively uses Adobe desktop publishing software in conjunction with Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Acrobat - delivering a "total" pre-press package for print, website and PDF publication.

Crotty also commented that many marketing and public relations executives and managers, as well as business owners, think they have no other choice then to contact an ad agency for professional writing and editing services. While Im sure there are still some areas that can best be served by advertising agencies, especially in the larger market areas, the fact is that with todays technology and advanced software, independent specialists, such as myself, can deliver the same services, but minus the middleman and unnecessary overhead. By adding these services I also enhance the visual effectiveness of my commercial photography, knowing how to best utilize an image of a product or facility in both print and web communication materials.

Jim Crotty started Picture Ohio, LLC as a full time endeavor in April 2003. Since then he has expanded his business to an office and studio as well as expanded his technical capabilities to include large format digital printers, professional scanners and digital camera equipment.

Crotty grew-up in Kettering where he now resides with his wife and two daughters. Hes a graduate of Alter High School and the University of Dayton. He also earned a Master of Professional Communication from Westminster College of Salt Lake City and completed the Professional Photography Program at Rocky Mountain School of Photography in Missoula, Montana.
